Here is the final assembly as it will be inside the doll. The threaded part on the right is passed thru the hole in the mounting hub so the shaft's shoulder rests against the face of the mounting hub. Then I threade3d on a hardened flat washer, followed by alternating "wavy" spring and hardened flat washers, topped off with a final hardened flat washer. Then the nylon locknut was tightened to the proper amount of torque, to approximate the amount of resistance the factory joint had in it.
