Very stressfull time. Lots of shaking and sweating. Had to take a lot of breaks. I will spend a lot of time evaluating the strength of the joint before beginning the slow process of wound closure. For a wound this large, I intend to close it in many (at least 5) small layers of silicone, allowing time for each layer to cure completely before adding the next layer. The transverse cut is in a high tension area. It will easily tear apart again if it is not strong.

Shouldn't have made that transverse cut linsey. You can stretch the silicone enough to make the repair withoout making that cut. Hope it all comes together for you.

I tried to avoid that cut knowing it was on a strong tension line. But while trying to get the old hip joint out, a tear started in that direction that I felt would become worse (jagged edge), so I decided to make a clean cut that might be easier to repair. It was not an easy decision to make. I did not even want to make the initial incision.
