I filled in the gaps between the arms with these little hair elastics.
WARNING WARNING DON'T DO THIS! They're made of latex, it seems, and they will inhibit the curing of your silicone mold.
If I were to do this again, I'd actually just cut off the arms, get stuff out of the way, and glue them on permanently, closing the gap that way.
