glueing was done in layers, using adhesive straight from the tube deep into the cut and working outwards, leaving the last 10 - 15mm without glue. Final glue was along the cut lines with a thinned RTV silicone and a small paint brush. Then it was all covered with cling wrap to keep it clean.
